Area General Manager – Levant (Syria, Lebanon & Jordan)

With the expansion of our footprint across the Levant region, we are seeking to build a pipeline of Area General Manager candidates to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple hotels.
As Area General Manager, you will have overall accountability for the performance, profitability, and brand delivery of hotels within your assigned countries. You will work through on-property General Managers and leadership teams, ensuring alignment with brand standards, owner expectations, and regional business objectives.
The role requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively across different regulatory, cultural, and market environments.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Regional & Multi-Property Leadership
Provide strategic oversight and direction to General Managers across Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.
Drive consistent operational standards, performance discipline, and brand compliance across all properties in the area.
Act as the senior escalation point for operational, financial, and people-related matters within the region.
Owner & Governance Management
Maintain a strong working knowledge of Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs) applicable to each property and ensure adherence across the portfolio.
Serve as the primary senior liaison with owners, ensuring transparency, alignment, and effective management of owner–operator relationships.
Support resolution of HMA-related matters in collaboration with Corporate and Regional teams.
Financial & Commercial Performance
Oversee financial and operational performance across the area, ensuring hotels meet or exceed agreed budgets, forecasts, and ROI targets.
Review and challenge annual business plans, budgets, and capital expenditure proposals for each property.
Drive regional revenue strategies in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to optimise RevPAR, occupancy, and total revenue.
Identify opportunities to maximise non-room revenue streams and asset value across the portfolio.
Brand, Guest Experience & Asset Protection
Ensure consistent delivery of brand standards in service quality, product presentation, and cleanliness across all hotels.
Oversee guest experience performance and ensure effective handling of escalated guest feedback and reputational risks.
Ensure preventive maintenance, asset protection, and risk management strategies are implemented across properties to safeguard long-term value.
People & Culture Leadership
Oversee leadership capability, succession planning, and talent development across the area.
Coach and support General Managers to build strong, accountable leadership teams.
Ensure HR compliance across all countries, including labour law adherence, payroll practices, and corporate policy alignment.
Champion a high-performance culture focused on service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Governance, Risk & External Relations
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and licensing requirements across Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.
Maintain effective relationships with local authorities and regulatory bodies in each country.
Oversee security, health, safety, and environmental standards across all properties in the area.
Stakeholder & Corporate Collaboration
Work closely with Regional and Corporate Office teams to ensure alignment with broader business strategies and productivity initiatives.
Represent the company at a regional level in professional, industry, and public forums.
